The firm was a result of a merger in December 2020 between Nderu Ngaruni & Karanja Advocates and Job Kimeru & Co.Advocates.
Prior to the merger, Nderu Ngaruni & Karanja Advocates formerly Nderu & Ngaruni Advocates was started in November 2013 by Partner Ann Nderu with the help of Partner Christine Kirimi whilst Job Kimeru Advocates Co. was established as the sole proprietorship by Partner Job Kimeru Gichungwa in the year 2015.
Since the years 2013 and 2015, prior to the merger, the three partners had undertaken legal work in diverse and wide-ranging areas of the legal industry.

Commercial Law
The Firm is always keen to provide practical solutions to our clients in this area of Law. Legal activities pertinent to this area include contract drafting, review and institution of suits in relation to any difficulties arising from contracts.
The firm also assists clients in compliance with statutory requirements related to a wide variety of commercial undertakings. The firm does also swear affidavits, declaratory oaths et.al. All Partners in the firm are accredited notaries public.
LITIGATION
We undertake both criminal and civil litigation but with more impetus on the latter. The firm has been and continues to be on record in primal Tort of Defamation suits as well as Constitution law petitions. The team handles litigation up to the highest court in the land depending on a client’s instructions.
Property Law & Conveyance
The team is widely versed in the new land regulatory regime that accompanied the promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. Hence the firm handles land disputes with a deep background of the substantive real property laws requisite.
The firm also handles facilitates conveyance for its clients. This includes but not limited to overseeing execution and attestation of Sale agreements, processing of title goods, undertaking official searches at the registry et.al.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
We are aware that some disputes have a confidentiality aspect as well as the need for clients to maintain business relations after dispute resolution. That is why the firm offers services related to ADR. These include Negotiation, Mediation & Arbitration.
The Managing Partner of the firm is a long standing member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Intellectual Property Law
The firm assists clients in Trademark and patents registration at the Requisite statutory authorities. The firm also undertakes, on behalf of clients, institution of legal proceedings in relation to copyright, trademark and patents infringement.
Insurance Law
The team is also usually keen on institution of Insurance claims resulting out of accidents. There is always a follow up of the claims with the Insurance companies –mostly in the preliminary stages – to attempt and settle the matter out of court.
The firm is usually keen on compensation of victims and especially in relation to amounts awarded by the courts based on the severity of the harm suffered. The firm will appeal an award where the amount awarded is little, or is not commensurate with injuries suffered.
